About Embervik

EMBERVIK is not a big brand. It's a small shop run by two people who spend an unreasonable amount of their life in the sauna — and we'd like to keep it that way.

How this shop works

Everything you see here passed through our own hands first. We order samples, we sit with them through real sessions, and most of what we try never makes it to the shelf. An aroma has to smell right to both of us — not "interesting", right. A hat has to survive months of proper 90 °C heat. A towel has to still feel good after twenty washes, not two.

We read every ingredient list and every material sheet, and we are stubborn about it. If a scent hides behind vague chemistry, if a fabric is treated with something we don't trust against bare skin in the heat — it doesn't get in. The rule is simple: if we wouldn't use it in our own sauna, we won't sell it to you.

Some things we make ourselves

A few pieces in this shop don't come from any supplier at all. Our sauna mats and seat pads we cut and finish by hand, from Portuguese cork and fabrics we spent a long time choosing — cork because it is naturally warm, antibacterial and completely at home in humid heat, the fabrics because they feel honest against the skin. Every batch is small. When you order one, it may need a few extra days before it ships — that's not a warehouse delay, that's one of us finishing your mat.

Where things come from

The rest of the catalogue is gathered piece by piece from workshops and makers we've tested and trust — felted wool from small European felters, woodware that can take a decade of steam, cold-plunge gear we've stood in ourselves in January. Some of it travels a long way to get to you, which is why we quote honest delivery times of 10–20 business days instead of promises we can't keep.
